Support Us

Become a corporate supporter of Smart Works Bristol

Your organisation can make a huge difference to the lives of thousands of women locally. So how can you help us?

As well as our main 4 partnership options, we always welcome financial donations. We are totally funded by donations and rely on these to keep our doors open.

Event Sponsorship and Participation

We hold fundraising events every year.  How can you join in?  You can run the Bristol half marathon, participate in our Step Up event or create your own corporate fundraising event.  You can access our sponsorship pack here.

Charity of the Year

Consider us for your Charity of the Year.  Every penny you raise goes to help the unemployed women of Bristol. Your on-going support enables us to plan our cash-flow and gives us financial security.

Corporate Partnerships

Become our corporate partner and collaborate with us on our journey. We will ensure this relationship is mutually beneficial.  Partnership can mean anything, for example: marketing support, financial support, donations of clothes and/or time, and sharing your social media following.

Gifts in Kind/Pro-Bono Support

This can be part of our partnership relationship or stand-alone.  We constantly need corporate spaces to hold speaker events, clothes sales and training.  Help with tech, media, social, legal or any other element of our charity is most welcome.
Become a referral partner
If you’re supporting a woman who is looking for work, we’d love to hear from you. Referring a client is quick and simple, we just need her name and contact details.
We welcome referrals from any organisation supporting women into employment, including job centres, employability programmes, refuges, and charities. This helps us reach the women who will benefit most from our service.

To refer your client, please make sure they meet the following criteria:
Is a woman.
Are aged 16 or above.
Are unemployed or on a zero-hours contract.
Have a confirmed job interview coming up or seeking support in securing a job interview

Donate Your Time - Volunteer

We offer volunteering roles across three key Smart Works departments: coaching, dressing, and wardrobe. All three departments are essential for us to deliver our vital service to unemployed women across the UK.
Coaching
Our expert coaching volunteers equip our clients with advice, tips and skills to help them with next steps towards employment. They work directly with our clients to help them prepare for an upcoming job interview. Their expertise and empathy helps our clients unlock their self-belief and discover their strengths and confidence through one-to-one coaching sessions.

Our coaching volunteers have senior level management experience and expertise in coaching individuals.  During their coaching sessions, they provide personalised guidance on the interviewing process, practise client interview techniques and advise on any other aspects of the job search relevant to our clients.
Dressing
Our dressing volunteers work directly with clients to help find the perfect outfit for their interview and give them the confidence they need to make a positive impact. They support numerous clients from different backgrounds, working with one or two other volunteers to tailor appointments to each individual client.

We treat every woman as an individual and try to find a style that suits them, there is no ‘one style fits all’ and that is one of the many challenges and joys of volunteer dressing. To join our team you must have empathy, patience, an eye for fashion and bags of confidence-boosting passion.
Wardrobe
Our wardrobe volunteers have meticulous attention to detail and a passion for organisation, to ensure our donations are efficiently processed and our wardrobes are beautifully organised.  They help us sort through all the donations we are kindly given, with a sharp eye for determining sizing, appropriateness for interview or fundraising sales, storing them according to season and ensuring they are displayed in the best possible way for our clients to view.
Donate Clothes
Support Smart Works Bristol by donating your pre-loved wardrobe items.
We rely on high-quality donations to fill the Smart Works Bristol wardrobes and stock our sales which help raise vital funds.

Our clients come to us after experiencing difficult living situations and often lack the self-belief and resources to perform well in their job search.  Please donate any pre-loved work suit, dress, coordinates and accessories so you can help play a part in another local woman’s success story.

You can also donate clothes or accessories suitable for sale -  we hold regular events to sell both pre-loved and new clothes to raise funds for our charity.
Items we can accept
Work-appropriate clothing
We actively welcome donations of pre-loved, high-quality workwear items, such as trousers, skirts, suits, dresses, shirts, and outerwear.
Shoes and bags
We are always in need of interview-appropriate shoes and bags for our clients as these items are the hardest to source.
Preloved items with resale value
We are happy to accept pieces that are not suitable for the workplace but could be resold at one of our fashion sales to raise vital funds for Smart Works.

Items we cannot accept

We can’t accept used or opened cosmetics, underwear or tights to ensure that we comply with health and safety regulations.

Before you donate, please check that all your pieces are still in wearable condition and ready for their new lease of life.
